Hello. And thank you for a very informative website on the area we live in, the website can be translated into English by going through Google search UK. The first question I have is, could someone tell my wife and I how Piquepoul came by its name and why it is spelt in two different ways one sign post it is spelt Piquepoul and the other Piquepoule. The second question is not really a question, but an observation. The new stop sign at the junction at Las Carbounières , when you stop at the white line the view to the left is good but the view to the right is obscured by the many sign posts, and one has to go over the white line to get a good view to the right. This is just an observation and not a complaint, as I think the new stop signs in the area were a good idea. Thanks again for the website. From Graham and Sheila Bryant Piquepoule, ? Piquepoul.

The Town Hall team had also noticed the observation you mentioned about the stop sign : it will be resolved in April.
Picquepoult. French vine of white wine, used for the Armagnac and the encépagement which is named "Côtes du Rhône", Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Côteaux du Languedoc, from the XII to the XIIIth century, Lot-et-Garonne produced many of this wine. Part of these vineyards(vines) were planted on the plateau of Piquepoul.
